I can’t tell you the number of instances of sexual harassment I have heard about over the years. And it’s always accompanied by so many emotions from the person who has experienced it: shame, embarrassment, fear.
The worry that they somehow caused it.
The fear of what people will think if they tell their stories.
The anxiety of what will happen to them and their job.

So it’s a welcome relief to hear that the Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins, is determined to hear the stories.

The Australian Human Rights Commission is calling for submissions to the 12 month National Inquiry into sexual harassment in Australian workplaces.
Perhaps if the full picture of what sexual harassment looks like today, in 2018, becomes clear – we can start to do something about it.
